There are numerous factors individuals of all ages attend Florida Traffic Schools. Possibly you might be a young teen going for your very first drivers license. In Florida it truly is mandatory to take a four hour course on Drug and Alcohol Awareness before you can get a permit and take the DMV test. Should you want to be prepared for this ahead of time they also offer you a permit practice test. Or if you are an older driver and just need to lower your insurance rates there’s the alternative of the Mature Drivers Course. This is really a six hour class that may lower your rates for 3 years. Even with the varied rates that the carriers provide this may be an powerful way to lower your insurance premiums. Possibly you are a traveler passing by means of Florida and you got caught speeding or received a parking ticket and would like the charges dismissed with no points on your license.

Tickets happen and when they do Florida Traffic Schools offer a answer. By taking a site visitors related course you have a chance of lowering the offense you might be charged with, lowering your fines and even keeping your driving record clear. In some instances by taking the class the charges will be dismissed and no points will be placed on your license. If you have been ordered to attend classes by the Court for alcohol related offenses or Anger Management or, in some counties, you’ve received a second ticket inside a twelve month period, there are classes specifically for that purpose.

Whatever your causes for wanting to attend a Florida Targeted traffic School you will find a wide selection of schools to choose from throughout the state. They’re as close as your yellow pages or by performing an on the web search. Discovering 1 in a neighborhood of one’s picking should not be a issue. They offer you hours which are handy to every one’s schedule with competitive rates which are inside every single spending budget. And to make it even greater, for every course which you take you receive your Certification of Completion exactly the same day you take the course. You’ll stay away from the hassle of having to go back to pick it up at a later date. This is very good if you have a court date that needs to be taken care of, you will be planning to change your insurance, or just desire to start off lowering your insurance premiums correct away. You are going to have the correct paperwork in hand.

British cavalry passing the ruins of Albert cathedral, France, during World War I. World War I provided endless striking subjects for a photographer as skilled as Tom Aitken. There is something very funereal about the composition of this picture, with the procession of horses in the foreground trooping past the shell of a once-beautiful cathedral. The small town of Albert was badly damaged in fierce fighting during the Allied offensive of August 1918.

Cavalry was considered an important part of all armies at the start of World War I, but the regiments faced terrible difficulties on the Western Front. Differences and advances in military strategy, such as the use of barbed wire and the introduction of machine guns and new artillery, made the horses vulnerable as never before, and many cavalry troops ended up fighting instead as infantry.

[Original reads: 'OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN ON THE BRITISH WESTERN FRONT IN FRANCE. Albert Cathedral showing cavalry passing by.']

Image Title: Russian Pilgrims Returning From the Jordon

Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "This picture is taken along the Jericho road looking west toward Jerusalem. The subject of the picture "Pilgrims" is one that has its place in all histories of religion. The present motley crowd is made up of a number of nationalities, but the majority are Russians. These have already been to the Jordon at their reputed places of the baptism of Jesus. and are now returning to the Holy City to partake in the festivities around the Holy Sepulchre which takes place at Easter."

Image Title: The Jordan Valley or Plain of Jericho

Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "On the last steep descent on the road from Jerusalem is a view of scenes deeply interesting, the Jordon Valley or plain of Jericho. The width of the plain here is sixteen miles and would require fully five hours by ordinary travel from this point, to gain the foot of the mountains of Moab, which may be seen beyond the plain.

The ruins of ancient Jericho of Joshua’ time are around the mountain to the left of this picture just beyond the vision. The Jericho of Herod in the time of Christ is supposed to have occupied a position on the plain at the foot of this descent. The bed of the Jordon is about the center of the plain.

On the left may be seen the path on the northern bank of the brook Cherith. The path begins at the Elijah Convent. After leaving Elijah Convent, the path traverses the side of the gorge, very precipitous above and below. Numerous are the caverns and cells which have accommodated hermits and anchorites for many centuries. These caves may be seen on either side of the gorge."

Description: Thomas Smillie was the Smithsonian’s first photographer and curator of photography. He and his studio staff were responsible for collecting and duplicating images brought back by scientists and curators traveling on business in other cities throughout the world, many of which often described the structures of other museums.

Creator/Photographer: Thomas Smillie
Birth Date: 1843
Death Date: 1917

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1843, Thomas William Smillie immigrated to the United States with his family when he five years old. After studying chemistry and medicine at Georgetown University, he took a job as a photographer at the Smithsonian Institution, where he stayed for nearly fifty years until his death in 1917. Smillie’s duties and accomplishments at the Smithsonian were vast: he documented important events and research trips, photographed the museum’s installations and specimens, created reproductions for use as printing illustrations, performed chemical experiments for Smithsonian scientific researchers, and later acted as the head and curator of the photography lab. Smillie’s documentation of each Smithsonian exhibition and installation resulted in an informal record of all of the institution’s art and artifacts. In 1913 Smillie mounted an exhibition on the history of photography to showcase the remarkable advancements that had been made in the field but which he feared had already been forgotten.

Description: As the Smithsonian’s first photographer and curator of photography, Thomas Smillie used images to catalog the much of the institution’s physical object collection, ranging from stuffed animals to plant fossils, decorative boxes, and beyond. The photographs themselves are now part of the Smithsonian’s collection.

Image by National Library of Scotland
Scene on the Amiens-St Quentin Road. An officer on a motorbike, travelling along a muddy and deserted road. Once tree-lined, all that remains of the trees are splintered and lifeless trunks. The fields on either side of the road are flat and lifeless. It is a depressing and desolate scene.

Whilst many scenes were deliberately taken as propaganda, some, like this, manage to document the damaging effects of war on the French landscape.

[Original reads: 'OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN ON THE BRITISH WESTERN FRONT IN FRANCE - Scene on the Amiens-St Quentin Road. Officer going up to find positions for his guns.']
